Just about every single time I walk by this yard on Carroll Avenue in the summer I stop and take photos of the bees, butterflies and blooms. This time, it was the colorful “We Believe” sign that caught my eye. Later as I was sketching from the photos, I realized I couldn’t see all of the words at the bottom so I searched online and found Jameesa Oakley’s Etsy shop – SignsofJustice — ( you can order your own yard sign at the link!). They have other great signs too, so check them out!

Hello to the kids walking by that I chatted with. You asked me what I was doing sitting across from the Takoma Park DC Library way up on a steep hill. I had just started my sketch but I mentioned I would post the final image when I was done. You walked by again and showed me that you had found my website on your phone and asked if that was really a photo of me on the about page. Very impressive that you took the time to find out!
