Exhibit at Brookside Gardens celebrates the beauty of nature through art. July 15 – August 12

Excited to share my artwork (watercolor titled "From Carol's Bench") in the "Nature as the Artist's Muse" exhibit at Brookside Gardens! ✨ Join us from July 15 - August 12 to celebrate the beauty of nature through art. Don't miss the "Meet the Artists" event on July 26 from 3:00 - 5:00pm. See you there! #NatureAsMuse #ArtExhibit #BrooksideGardens #MAAArtists

There is an amazing gift shop in the building including art bins holding matted prints and originals from the artists in this show. These are also for sale and make great gifts.
For an added bonus: bring comfy shoes so you can walk around the beautiful gardens. Bring a sketchbook in case you feel inspired to sit and draw 😃

If you would like to share this post, the instagram post, or the facebook post to help advertise the exhibit, that would be great.

Everything sparkles a little more in Silver Spring. Northwood Spring Vendor Show Saturday May 4th

Hello neighbors! Cool events tomorrow, Saturday May 4th. The Sligo Creek Fest is from 11am -3pm and the Northwood HS Spring Vendor Show (also a fundraiser) is from 10am-2pm. Come to both events if you can. I'll have a table at the Northwood Spring Vendor Show with some original art, prints, T-shirts, totes, mugs & more. Here is a sneak peak at some of my new designs. I'm also making a special "enhanced" giclee edition of my popular "Take a Hike NW Branch Trail" print.

Oops. The sparkles are hard to see because the sun is setting and it is getting dark. You'll have to see these in person.

December News: Upcoming Art Show “‘Tis the Season” & New Poster Series inspired by a Forest Knolls Vintage Real Estate Brochure

I invite you to consider our small business: Michelle Bailey Art & Gifts, on this "Small Business Saturday" and enjoy 10% off of your order of unique art and gifts.

I am excited to have my painting "Winter Squirrel" included in "'Tis the Season" art exhibition at Artists & Makers Studio in North Bethesda, Md. This exhibition organized by Montgomery Art Association (MAA) is on view November 29 through December 20, 2023. Stop by 11810 Parklawn Dr Suite 210 and enjoy a lovely variety of artworks by MAA members.I have two paintings in progress that will be in this show.

I have been adding new designs to the gift shop, many local themes, including the latest series based on a 1960s Forest Knolls Real Estate Advertising brochure given to me when we purchased our house from the original owner. I created a poster for each house in the brochure: the "Carriage Split-Level", "Carriage Rambler", "Carriage Bi-level", and "Carriage Colonial". If you live in one of these models, this poster will certainly add a bit of nostalgia to your wall décor. There are several other companies that built homes in the area in the 50s and 60s--if you have an original sales brochure for your house that might inspire a poster, please contact me.

This watercolor was painted using Daniel Smith iridescent gold watercolor ground and has a shimmering effect in certain lighting.
Matted giclée prints available at show and online.

About this show:  Our annual exhibition at Brookside Gardens is a mid-sized art show using the full gallery space within the visitors center. The show is a wonderful opportunity for MAA artists to display their botanical works -- flowers, plants, butterflies, landscape paintings from the gardens. There will be wall art and 3D artworks in the display cases. Many of the artists will have giclée prints of their works available for sale in the gift shop.

I'm a new member of the Montgomery Art Association and happy to have my cigar box painting of a beautiful sunflower included in the hanging wall art display in this art show.  Matted giclée prints of my sunflower painting and other works will be available for purchase in the Brookside Gardens gift shop--and my online gift shop. I will be attending the meet the artist event on May 17th and hope to see you there! Over 70 MAA artists are participating. I've seen this show many times over the years and have always been amazed by the art.
